"Lots of Flowers!"

When I did my musing last week I sent it to my Mom and sisters
and they mused me right back! So I decided to open up the "If
I was a flower" idea to others.
Here is a collection of musings from other flower girls. Some
included photos and even a little painting.
Who would you be if you were a flower? Write and let me know!
Enter flowers…
Now, if I were a flower, I would be a water lily. Just flowing
on top of the water without a care in the world and just looking
up to the blue sky and enjoying the sun. In the evening, my
blossom would close to rest and bloom
again the next morning.

I'd definitely be a tulip. A cross between wild and tailored.
Sublime in youth but oh so beautiful when past their prime.

No question for me on the flower, it would be a peony...the
velvety texture...the smell...the colors....well, need I say
more?

If I could be a flower, I would be sad, my feet stuck in clay,
my head tossing in the wind, always stretching out to the sun,
but rooted to the earth. Loved but for a moment and then faded
away, or crushed by a careless foot, bound to the earth for
all eternity. Now if I could be an animal, life would be a pleasure,
to roam, to seek, to enjoy the sun or not, to roll in the green
cool grass, to sip the water of the creeks, to hear the roar
of thunder and the chirping of birds. To awake to the smell
of the earth, and the adventure of a new day. To watch the changing
of the seasons, and the growing of my kin.

If I could be a flower...
I'd be a bearded iris with a scent so elusive and ethereal,
a barely there, indecipherable bouquet that is impossible to
inhale deeply enough. You try, you suck the intoxicating scent
in with a long deep breathe, but right near the top it fades
away, leaving you wanting more, incomplete, insatiable. There
is no chemical equivalent, no bottled product that can sustain
you through the year. You must remember to go out and seek the
iris in its season, at its time, it waits for no-one. It teases
you with its elusive fragrance, some days the perfume is there,
full of its power, other times, with clouds or in cooler moments,
it disappears entirely, frustrating you with its promise lost.
Will the season last long enough? Can you trust your decaying
memory to send you out again to inhale the mysterious and possessive
scent before the season has once again moved on? But the next
day and the next moment arrive, leaving the past alone, suspended
on it’s pedestal. Now, new and alluring miracles of creation
await for the senses that are open, alive, receptive.

If I was a flower...
I would be a poppy. Orange and red with a soft green stem, vibrant,
full of color and dancing in the wind.

Lily...
Calla is regal.
Casablanca Lily is for celebration.
Day Lily is for enthusiasm.
I think those fit!

The flower that comes to my mind's eye is a certain wild little
orchid that grows in Hawaii. To me it represents love and remembrance.
Here's my little story. Three years ago my daughter treated
me to a trip to Hawaii. It was our second trip there together.
Our first trip was when Laura was only 2 years old. Over the
years I would tell her about the fragrant wild orchids that
we found there. We both wanted to revisit these beautiful islands
to see them again. We found our favorite orchid growing on a
mountaintop near the lava flows on the big island. It was a
sturdy brilliant little bloom about 1 inch wide. To this day
I can still see that flower and it will always remind me of
the love I share with my daughter. I would like to be like that
fragrant and colorful bloom, sturdy and brave, with my roots
planted firmly and bringing joy to all who visit me.

I would like to be an African Violet. A bouquet of all the different
colours they come in, just like the ones in my bathroom window.
They make me happy to see them every morning.
Love from me and my violets,
F.J.
If I was a flower I would be a...Guess who I am 2 lip?
