"Softly Suede"
Chris and I were at the Burlington Country Club, a little jewel
of a golf course nestled right in the town of Burlington. We
had dinner with two other couples. It is late May, yet all the
ladies were wearing suede. Soft and washable, faux, yet pretty,
long, and periwinkle. It seems suede is just coming back in
a beautiful way. Feminine, softer and softer, the colors are
wonderful. It dyes as beautifully as a moss crepe or a silk.
I look forward to fall and our bright pink jacket, there's also
a teal. And next spring decadent amethyst in a long duster coat.
I love the way it is both feminine and bohemian, both cow girl
and city chick. Funny, even a country club can provide clues
to changing tastes. The strawberry and rhubarb pie wasn't bad
either. I love that crumbly crust and the Ben and Jerry's ice
cream on the side.
