“Musing with my Muse”
A Muse is from the Greek myth involving goddesses each of whom
inspired an art or science. Muse is the force that inspires
a creative artist. People say their muse has come upon them
and they mean that they are inspired by an idea that is controlling
them. They can write without thinking, they can draw without
justification, and they are moved to perform. They are inspired.
They are ‘hot.’ Time is irrelevant; they are gripped
by their creativity. The slow marshalling of ideas is a thing
of the past; creativity floods out. Focus is sublime. Tiredness
does not exist, they could go all night. If your muse has ever
come upon you then you know to seize the moment. To grab a pen
a paper whatever is required and start jotting down your thoughts,
sketching out ideas, because as quickly as the muse alights,
if we do not respect her, she opens her wings and flies away.
We must listen to our muse and be her servant when she calls.
Right now my Muse is angry with me. She came to visit me last
night and I ignored her call. And I cannot at all remember what
was whispered in my ear.
