The days are reaching their longest, the bugs are buzzing, the weeds are growing and the temperature is rising.
Sure the pests have moved in for the season, but not all creatures wreak havoc at home. Early summer is a wonderful time to get out in the garden and enjoy your bountiful
blooms along with some fabulous flying friends.
Hummingbirds are a great addition
to your outdoor paradise. You can’t
plant the birds, but you can tempt
them with their favorite flowers.
The flowers don’t have to be red or pink,
but they do need to be rich with sweet nectar.
A few hummingbird favorites are
Rhododendron, Fuchsia, Red Columbine,
Bee Balm, Hollyhocks and Delphinium.
All of these flowering plants will add color
and varying heights to your landscaping.
Head out to your local gardening store,
plant a tasty morsel and enjoy endless
summer days of entertainment from a
delightful little bird.
