It can be a bit difficult to pick flowers from a garden this time of year, but a stop to your local flower market will be sure to provide you with a blooming assortment of botanicals to take home. When I put them in a vase I follow a simple formula of proportion to balance my bouquet – I put two thirds of my bouquet in the container, and one third out.

I also use the same pyramid principle in arranging the bouquet – higher in the middle lower on the sides.

For arranging vases [or any objects] – I follow the same rule of three – or rule of odds – grouping three vases together - and place the tallest in the center.

The vases should not be lined up in a row – the center vase should step out of line and create a triangular shape. There's that pyramid again.

If you have more than three vases [or photo frames, or statues or pots, candles or boxes] continue grouping in "odd" formations – 1, 3, 5, 7 etc.

It is as easy as 1 – 2 – 3!
